The casinocomputer virus is a malicious virus that upon running the infected file, copies the File Allocation Tables (FATs) to random-access memory (RAM), then deletes the FAT from the hard disk. It challenges the user to a game of Jackpot of which they have 5 credits to play with, hence the name. No matter if they win or lose, the computer shuts down, thereby making them have to reinstall their DOS. The message it shows when it challenges you read(s):
DISK DESTROYER - A SOUVENIR OF MALTA
I have just DESTROYED the FAT on your Disk !!However, I have a copy in RAM, and I’m giving you a last chanceto restore your precious data.WARNING: IF YOU RESET NOW, ALL YOUR DATA WILL BE LOST - FOREVER !!Your Data depends on a game of JACKPOT

Contained the malware responsible for the incident However, more than a year later after the casino operator was hit by a second payment card breach, Affinity allegedly learned from Trustwave’s competing cybersecurity firm, Mandiant, that the malware had never been fully removed. Aug 05, 2020 The Hard Rock Casino may have fallen victim to sophisticated malware and PoS scraping technologies, but if recent history is any indication, proper patching and vulnerability detection could have saved them from a repeat compromise. The only casino located in Gulfport is the Island View Casino. Federal investigators say the thieves gained access to the casino’s bank account by convincing a casino employee that a phishing email was genuine. Once the employee clicked on the attachment, the malware was installed.
